Hello. This is Steve Foster, President and CEO of FirstState Bank. We would like to take this opportunity to address the impact of the coronavirus on your bank. Due to the federal and state mandates regarding larger groups of people gathering in locations, we have made the decision to close our lobbies in all three locations beginning Monday, March 23. Our sole reason for this action is to protect our customers and employees.

We have a pandemic plan in place to continue essential bank services, and our employees are practicing social distancing to limit grouping among staff members. Our drive-thru service will continue to remain open during regular business hours, and we want to encourage you to use our ATMs, Internet Banking, Telephone Banking, and Mobile Banking. Our phones will be answered and people that have a need to speak with staff members will be able to speak with them. Please understand that we anticipate heavy phone usage and, if we are not available, leave a message and your call will be returned as soon as possible. We will have staff available to answer questions on the phone, and if you have a financial emergency you can schedule an appointment to enter the bank to see a staff member, but only after assurance that you do not show symptoms of the virus.

I do want to assure everyone that FirstState Bank is a very sound bank in excellent condition and a highly rated bank with both the FDIC and State Banking Department. FirstState is an FDIC-insured depository institution that has been helping people and communities for almost fifty years, and you can believe me when I tell you that FirstState and our customers will get through this together.

Below are alternate ways you may access your accounts with FirstState Bank:

1.    Take advantage of Internet Banking: You may access your account on your computer (or mobile device) at www.firststatebank.bank

2.    Enjoy the convenience of Mobile Banking: If you’re already registered for Internet Banking, you may download our mobile app from the App Store or Google Play Store. (Check the logo to ensure you have the correct FirstState Bank.)

       a.    Mobile Deposit is now available for your convenience.  This service is available to Mobile Banking customers, allowing you to deposit checks using your mobile device.

3.    Use Telephone Banking: 24x7 Telephone Banking is available by dialing 256-396-6915 (or toll-free at 866-396-6915).

4.    Telephone the bank:

5.    Consider the drive-through: Drive-through lanes are open at all three of our locations during our normal drive-through hours.
